What to Do Before Applying to a Digital Agency

Before applying to a digital agency, you need to do more than polish your resume. Agencies hire for culture fit, creative thinking, and technical depth — all at once. Here’s what I’ve seen actually works.

Build a portfolio with 3–5 strong, real-world projects. Every project should have a clear problem statement, your technical approach, and the measurable result. For developers, GitHub repositories with clean code matter as much as screenshots.

Agencies want to see that you understand their clients’ businesses. Research the agency’s portfolio deeply. Understand their tech stack — are they WordPress-heavy? Do they use Laravel? Custom React frontends? Tailor your application accordingly.

Communication is everything. In agency environments, you’ll interface with project managers, designers, and clients simultaneously. Demonstrating clear, professional communication in your application and interview is non-negotiable.

On Fiverr Pro, I’ve completed hundreds of projects across diverse industries. Each one strengthened my ability to rapidly understand a client’s context, ask the right questions, and deliver accurate work on tight timelines — exactly what agencies need.
